Call me by my name

Alice and her friends answer questions that you don’t want to ask your preceptor, peer, or colleagues regarding your career in science.

Dear Alice,

Dear From China,

The culture in the United States is much less formal than what you are used to. Here, some children call even their parents by their first names. As an international scientist, you may be in the United States for a while, and you’re likely to spend time in other informal cultures, so you might as well adapt.
